HILL’S Puppy Large Breed Dry Dog Food Chicken Flavour – 16kg

HILL’S Puppy Large Breed is a complete and balanced dry food specially developed for large and giant breed puppies expected to reach 25kg or more as adults. Growing a big dog requires more than simply feeding a bigger portion. Large breed puppies need carefully controlled nutrition to support steady growth and healthy skeletal development.

This chicken recipe combines high-quality poultry protein, optimal mineral levels, DHA from fish oil, L-carnitine and clinically proven antioxidants. Hill’s also includes ActivBiome+ Multi-Benefit Technology, a special blend of prebiotic fibres and antioxidants that supports digestion, immune health and healthy organ function.

Designed specifically for large breed puppy growth

Large breed puppies grow quickly, which makes appropriate calcium, phosphorus and energy levels especially important during development. HILL’S Puppy Large Breed is formulated with controlled mineral levels to support healthy bones and joints while providing the energy and protein needed for growth.

Hill’s feeding guidance includes puppies through 18 months of age and recommends moving to an appropriate Hill’s Large Breed Adult food at around 18 months.

Healthy bones and skeletal development

HILL’S Puppy Large Breed contains carefully balanced calcium and phosphorus levels. This is particularly important for rapidly growing large breed puppies, where excessive or poorly balanced mineral intake can be undesirable.

The current formula provides approximately 1.1% calcium and 0.95% phosphorus as analytical constituents, providing controlled mineral nutrition specifically formulated around large breed puppy development.

DHA for brain and eye development

Fish oil provides DHA, an Omega-3 fatty acid that plays an important nutritional role during early brain and eye development. The current formula contains 1.3% fish oil and approximately 0.14% DHA.

That makes the formula about more than simply growing bigger. It supports several important developmental needs during puppyhood.

ActivBiome+ Multi-Benefit Technology

Hill’s includes a 0.6% ActivBiome+ Multi-Benefit prebiotic blend containing oat bran and fructo-oligosaccharides. These prebiotic fibres help nourish beneficial bacteria within the digestive system.

A healthy gut microbiome contributes to normal digestion and forms part of the nutritional foundation for lifelong health.

Composition

Chicken and turkey meal (chicken 19%; total poultry 29%), broken rice, maize, digest, animal fat, dried eggs, cellulose, flaxseed, minerals, dried beet pulp, fish oil (1.3%), vegetable oil, oat bran and fructo-oligosaccharides.

Fresh drinking water should always be available.

Feeding weaning puppies

For young puppies being introduced to solid food, Hill’s recommends adding warm water to the kibble, allowing it to soak and mixing it into a soft paste. Gradually reduce the amount of added water as the puppy becomes comfortable eating dry kibble.

Changing to HILL’S Puppy Large Breed

Introduce HILL’S Puppy Large Breed gradually over approximately 7 days. Mix increasing amounts of the new food with decreasing amounts of your puppy’s previous food until the transition is complete.
