Specially Formulated for Large and Giant Breed Dogs

Large dogs have different nutritional requirements from smaller breeds.

Their greater body weight places additional demands on their joints and skeletal system, while maintaining lean muscle and an appropriate body condition is important for long-term mobility.

Hill’s Adult Large Breed Bonus Bag 18kg is developed specifically for these needs.

The formula provides high-quality protein to support normal muscle maintenance, balanced energy for everyday activity and naturally sourced joint-supporting nutrients.

It is suitable for adult large and giant breed dogs such as Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Boerboels and other breeds weighing at least 25kg at maturity.

Individual requirements vary according to breed, weight, activity and health.

Glucosamine and Chondroitin for Joint Health

Healthy joints are particularly important for larger dogs because their joints support greater body weight.

Hill’s Adult Large Breed contains glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate from natural ingredients.

Glucosamine is a naturally occurring component associated with cartilage structure and joint function.

Chondroitin sulphate is a structural component of cartilage that contributes to its normal properties.

The formula includes crustacean shell hydrolysate as a glucosamine source and pork cartilage as a source of chondroitin.

These ingredients provide nutritional support for normal joint function and mobility.

For dogs needing a more specialised mobility-focused diet, Keen Pets also stocks Hill’s Science Plan Adult Healthy Mobility Large Breed Chicken 12kg.

High-Quality Protein for Strong, Lean Muscles

Maintaining healthy muscle mass is essential for large breed dogs.

The Hill’s chicken recipe contains chicken and turkey meal, which provide animal protein and essential amino acids.

Protein supports normal muscle maintenance, tissue repair and everyday bodily functions.

Hill’s Adult Large Breed Bonus Bag 18kg combines protein with carefully balanced fat and energy to support an active adult lifestyle.

Appropriate portions are important because excess body weight places additional strain on joints.

Digestive Health with ActivBiome+ Technology

A healthy digestive system helps dogs make effective use of nutrients in their food.

The current Hill’s Science Plan Large Breed Adult Chicken formula contains ActivBiome+ Multi-Benefit Technology, a specialised blend of prebiotic fibres and antioxidants.

The prebiotic blend includes oat bran and fructooligosaccharides (FOS), which help nourish beneficial intestinal bacteria.

Hill’s uses this technology to support normal digestive function, immune health and overall wellbeing.

Because formulations are periodically updated, confirm that your bonus bag carries the ActivBiome+ claim before displaying it as a pack-specific benefit.

For dogs requiring nutrition specifically formulated around digestive wellbeing, consider Hill’s Adult Perfect Digestion Large Breed Chicken & Brown Rice 12kg.

Healthy Skin and a Shiny Coat

Healthy skin and coat condition depend on suitable nutrition, including essential fatty acids and vitamins.

Hill’s Science Plan Adult Large Breed Chicken contains omega-6 fatty acids and vitamin E.

Omega-6 fatty acids contribute to normal skin function, while vitamin E provides antioxidant nutritional support.

Together with a balanced diet, these nutrients help maintain healthy skin and a soft, glossy coat.
